Two full weeks is the traditional minimum for experiencing the true depth of Panchakarma. All five classical treatments are administered in full, with every stage of preparation, cleansing and rejuvenation given the time it deserves. This is where lasting transformation begins.
Fourteen days is the threshold where Panchakarma becomes genuinely complete. Ancient Ayurvedic texts traditionally prescribe a minimum of two weeks — and for very good reason. It is only with this duration that all five primary treatments can be administered in full sequence, with each phase receiving the time it requires to work at depth.
In the first week, the preparatory phase (Purva Karma) is given full expression — internal oleation, Snehapana, and progressive Swedana work in harmony to mobilise toxins from deep tissue. By the second week, your doctor prescribes and administers the primary eliminative therapies (Pradhana Karma) targeted precisely to your dosha and condition, followed by a meaningful rejuvenation phase that consolidates every gain made during the cleanse.
Guests who choose 14 days consistently report the deepest physical and emotional shifts — weight normalisation, freedom from chronic pain, restored sleep and a mental clarity that simply isn't achievable in a shorter programme.
Is 14 days the right duration for your condition? Our doctors will assess your specific health situation and tell you honestly — sometimes 7 days is sufficient; sometimes 21 is warranted. Book a doctor consultation to find out →
Every additional day of Panchakarma compounds the benefit of everything before it. Here is the honest comparison between a 7-day introduction and a full 14-day programme.
With two weeks, every stage of the classical Panchakarma process receives its full natural proportion — the way the ancient texts intended.
Four full days of internal and external oleation, Snehapana (medicated ghee therapy) and progressive Swedana steam treatments. Toxins are systematically loosened from tissues throughout the body and directed toward the digestive channels for elimination — a preparation that simply cannot be rushed.
Seven days of intensive, doctor-prescribed treatments: Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Basti sequences, Virechana purgation and Nasya nasal therapy — each chosen for your specific constitution. This is the heart of classical Panchakarma and the phase most abbreviated in shorter programmes.
Three dedicated days of Rasayana (cellular nourishment) and restorative therapies including Abhyanga and Shirodhara, alongside a carefully graduated dietary reintroduction protocol. The system is properly stabilised — not simply left to recover on its own after cleansing.
Every day is guided by your doctor's evolving assessment of your response to treatment — nothing is fixed or formulaic. This is an overview of the general progression.
Full Prakriti and Vikriti assessment by your doctor. Initial Abhyanga massage and mild Swedana steam to begin the preparation process. Dietary protocol established. Body begins to receive and respond.
Medicated clarified ghee administered in progressive doses to deeply lubricate the internal channels (srotas), binding to fat-soluble toxins in tissues. This phase is unique to 14-day programmes and above.
Full-body Abhyanga followed by deep herbal steam therapy twice daily. Toxins mobilised in earlier days now move rapidly through channels toward the digestive tract — palpable warmth, loosening and deep fatigue are normal and positive signs.
A gentler mid-programme day for consolidation. Light Abhyanga, extended meditation session, doctor review and recalibration of your remaining treatment plan based on your progress so far.
The primary Pitta-cleansing treatment: medicated purgation under full doctor supervision to eliminate accumulated toxins from the liver and small intestine. One of the most powerful and transformative days of the entire programme.
The most important of all Panchakarma treatments — a series of Anuvasana (oil basti) and Niruha (herbal decoction basti) administered in sequence to cleanse the colon and address deep-seated Vata disorders. Profound and lasting in effect.
Rejuvenating therapies — Abhyanga, Shirodhara and Ksheeradhara — alongside Rasayana herbs begin the deep nourishment and rebuilding phase. Energy, clarity and ease return noticeably during these days.
Final doctor consultation to review all findings. Personalised post-programme diet, lifestyle and medicine recommendations provided. A meaningful, unhurried closing ceremony with the teaching team.

Unlike shorter programmes, the 14-day retreat includes all five primary Panchakarma treatments — each administered in full under doctor supervision.
A 14-day programme is the recommended minimum for guests managing the following health situations — as chronic conditions require sustained, sequenced treatment to address root causes.
Chronic joint inflammation responds profoundly to the full Basti sequence, which directly addresses the Vata pathology underlying most forms of arthritis.
Nervous system exhaustion requires more than a week to genuinely unwind. The extended Shirodhara and Yoga Nidra protocol in Week 2 achieves what shorter programmes cannot.
Diabetes management, thyroid imbalances and high cholesterol respond to the liver-cleansing Virechana and full metabolic reset achievable only in a 14+ day programme.
IBS and chronic digestive disorders require the full Basti Krama sequence to address the colon comprehensively — this cannot be abbreviated without losing its efficacy.
Significant metabolic imbalance requires Virechana, Basti and full dietary rehabilitation over 14 days to reset Agni (digestive fire) durably.
Hormone regulation responds to the combined effect of Virechana, Basti and Rasayana over two full weeks — a process too complex to compress into seven days.
Psoriasis, eczema and persistent acne reflect deep internal Pitta and Ama imbalances that require Virechana and sustained blood-purifying treatment to address at root level.
Deeply entrenched sleep disorders and adrenal-type exhaustion respond to the full programme's combination of Shirodhara, Basti and Rasayana therapies across both weeks.
