Three full weeks of classical Ayurvedic therapy — not a fixed menu, but a programme built entirely around you. Your doctor designs every treatment based on your consultation, constitution and condition. Basti, Virechana, Raktamokshan, Nasya, Abhyanga, Shirodhara — the combination is yours alone.
Twenty-one days is where Ayurvedic medicine begins to address the root layers of chronic illness — not just the symptoms, not just a single system, but the whole pattern that has accumulated over years. The extra time beyond 14 days is not simply more of the same — it is the space in which the physician can observe your response, refine your protocol and administer treatments that shorter programmes simply cannot accommodate.
There is no standard 21-day treatment menu at Vedanjana. What your programme includes depends entirely on your consultation. For one guest, the priority may be Virechana (therapeutic purgation) followed by an extended Basti sequence. For another, Raktamokshan (bloodletting therapy) may be indicated alongside Nasya. Your doctor decides — based on your Prakriti, your Vikriti, your condition history and your response to the first week of preparation.
This is classical Ayurveda as a medical science, not as a wellness menu.

Treatment selection in Panchakarma is an act of medical judgment — not a fixed package. Here is how your physician designs your programme.
The following therapies form the toolkit from which your physician selects and sequences your personal treatment plan. Not all treatments are given to every guest — each is chosen for specific indications.
Full-body synchronised oil massage followed by herbal steam therapy. The daily foundation of every Panchakarma programme — administered throughout all three weeks to support preparation, cleansing and rejuvenation phases.
All guests, dailyA continuous stream of warm medicated oil poured over the forehead. Deeply regulates the nervous system, addresses insomnia, anxiety and chronic stress patterns. Multiple sessions scheduled across the three weeks.
Most guestsMedicated purgation to cleanse the liver, bile ducts and small intestine. The primary Pitta-eliminating treatment — prescribed when Pitta imbalance is the dominant finding in your consultation.
Prescribed per consultationA sequence of oil-based (Anuvasana) and herbal decoction-based (Niruha) enemas administered over multiple sessions. Prescribed for deep Vata disorders — arthritis, chronic pain, constipation, neurological conditions, lower back issues.
Prescribed per consultationClassical bloodletting therapy — administered using leech therapy or venesection technique based on indication. Prescribed specifically for blood-level Pitta toxicity: chronic skin conditions, gout, certain joint inflammations and liver-related imbalances.
When specifically indicatedMedicated nasal oil administration to cleanse and nourish the head, neck and respiratory channels. Indicated for sinus disorders, migraines, thyroid imbalances, memory, hair loss and conditions of the head region.
Prescribed per consultationThe progression below reflects the general structure of a 21-day programme. Your specific treatments within each phase are determined by your physician based on daily assessment.
Comprehensive Prakriti–Vikriti analysis by your physician. Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis), medical history review and your personalised 21-day treatment plan is written. Initial Abhyanga and mild Swedana begin the process gently.
Medicated clarified ghee is administered in progressively increasing doses over three days. This uniquely deep preparation liquefies and mobilises fat-soluble toxins from deep tissues — a phase available only in programmes of 21 days or more.
Full-body massage followed by deep herbal steam twice daily. The preparation phase accelerates — toxins loosened over the first five days are now moving actively toward the digestive channels. Fatigue, warmth and loosening are expected signs of progress.
Depending on your consultation findings, this week introduces your primary prescribed therapies — Virechana if Pitta is dominant, Basti if Vata disorders are central, Raktamokshan if blood purification is indicated. Your physician closely monitors your response each day.
The main cleansing treatments continue and deepen. For Basti, the full Krama sequence typically spans several days this week. Nasya is often woven into the daily programme. Shirodhara sessions intensify for nervous system conditions. Daily physician review guides every adjustment.
A gentler mid-point day. Extended physician consultation to review all findings from the first two weeks, recalibrate the Week 3 plan, and assess the depth of the cleanse achieved. A pause for integration — meditation, Yoga Nidra, light Abhyanga.
A unique advantage of the 21-day duration: where needed, your physician may prescribe a second cycle of key treatments — a second Basti sequence, Nasya continuation, or targeted therapies addressing whatever the first two weeks have revealed. No shorter programme has this capacity.
Transition to rejuvenation. Rasayana (cellular nourishment) herbs are introduced and intensified. Restorative Abhyanga, Ksheeradhara and Shirodhara are scheduled. Energy, clarity and lightness return noticeably during these days.
Final physician consultation with a full written review of findings. Personalised post-programme diet, lifestyle, Rasayana herbs and home-practice recommendations prepared. A meaningful closing ceremony with the teaching team. Unhurried and complete.

Twenty-one days allows treatments to be sequenced, repeated and refined — addressing conditions that have accumulated over years, not weeks.
Extended Basti sequences and targeted joint therapies over three weeks address the deep Vata accumulation underlying most chronic joint conditions.
Persistent skin conditions often require Raktamokshan alongside blood-purifying treatments — only possible in programmes of adequate length.
Fatty liver, elevated cholesterol and metabolic syndrome respond to extended Virechana preparation and follow-up Rasayana therapies across three weeks.
PCOS, infertility and hormonal imbalance require sustained treatment across multiple systems — the 21-day duration allows the full protocol to work at root level.
Conditions involving tremor, weakness and degenerative changes respond to the extended Basti and Ksheerabasti sequences unique to longer programmes.
Chronic fatigue and adrenal exhaustion require the three-week combination of Shirodhara, Basti and Rasayana to systematically rebuild the nervous system.
Chronic sinusitis, asthma and respiratory congestion respond strongly to extended Nasya therapy, which can be repeated and intensified across three weeks.
Both obesity and debilitating underweight require the combined metabolic reset of Virechana, Basti and Rasayana over three weeks to produce lasting change.
